P.S. to list: was anyone else *really* disappointed with the final episode
of Jazz on PBS last night?
Yes!!!
I am going to order the entire series for my own personal viewing if it is
made available.
I was really blown away by the Upright Acoustic Bass Playing of Ron Carter
that was briefly shown. Damn!!! that was like Buffalo's getting frisky with
one another on the prairie carnally that is!!! I have to go shopping!!!
I am glad to see this series aired and I learn a great deal but I also felt
things were left out or ignored or biased, I dunno, I can't complain too
much because it is better than nothing, Capisci?
Personally, Where was Al Di Meola in the scheme of things? I love his work
and maybe it just wasn't traditional enough to be mentioned. I think the
modern genre if you want to call it that of Acid Jazz was ignored. I think
those sterotypical, for lack of a better word, classically trained Jazz
Artist and Critics alike ignore Acid Jazz. Maybe it is that I reside in an
area where people have no clue to Acid Jazz and I am a little dissapointed.
I am perplexed and I digress. I will be checking out Ron Carter's catalog
though so that ends this on a positive note which is important. Happy
Trails!!!!
