Marco,
i have been on the air for going on 20 years! and besides the eternal
"please play this for my friend" people who are obviously NOT even listening
to the show, i have some regular freaks who call and ask for some VERY
strange stuff and i have also had a couple of much scarier calls and even
one written death threat from some ardent fan (!?) that had me having to
visit the local law-enforcement offices where i was advised to "keep my eyes
open" and to "vary my routine" and that, were i to feel threatened to call
them post-haste. Happily, it's been more than a year now on that little
score and i am still here. For more than ten years I have had one obviously
inebriated sod asking for a very obscure Ray Charles track that i could not
even find listed anywhere. it's been a trip but then you know about that
although you might not have had the death threats, gosh, i am out there but
i do not consider myself a threat. one of the prices paid for delivering
good music to people for nothing over two decades. the stuff i have faced in
clubs is sometimes a joke compared to some of this stuff. On the other hand,
i have had some delightful benefits from my work that far outweigh the
negatives, keep on keeping on, we just gotta keep doing it!
