Holdsworth was with Gong, Soft Machine in the '70s, then later with the Tony
Williams Lifetime and Bill Bruford. He also did some solo work on his
"SynthAxe." My personal favorite of his efforts was with Bruford.
I remember listen to a Bruford song reluctantly called "Go To Hell" I think
and I was impressed with Bruford and Holdsworth. A couple of years ago I
was in Rapungi a section of Tokyo and Holdsworth was wailing in a pub. I
could not get in the place because it was packed so I sat outside just
listening to his reckless abandonment!!!!
Phil Collins helped found Brand X with John Goodsall. He shows up on most
albums, later almost as a cameo appearance, but only really contributed in
the crative efforts on Unorthodox Behaviour (76) and Moroccan Roll (77).
I'm not so familiar with Bill Connors, other than that he was with Chick
Corea's Return to Forever.

I think Bill Connors is one those obscure Jazz Artist that guitarist could
benefit from being exposed to. I think you can get Bill Connors catalog
from http://www/audiophileimports.com out of Maryland I believe. I remeber
wanting him to take a more Hendrix-esque approach to his playing but he
burns in a different way. On the other hand another guitarist worth
checking out is Michael Landua and his CD "Tales from the Bulge" track
"Johnny Swing" really is a must have for those of us who are devout
acknowledgers of Hendrix and his influence on us!!! Happy Trails!!!
