Here's some exciting JAZZ-oriented news recently posted to the kozmigroov
list. Be sure to check out both of the record label websites because they
    are extremely cool...

just a couple of things from the current issue of the
    wire -

'Windy city indie label hefty is reissuing two long
lost 70s jazz underground classics, trombonist Phil
Ranelin's THE TIME IS NOW! and VIBES FROM THE TRIBE.,
originally released on his own Tribe label. although
tracks have appeared on compilations before, this is
the first time the albums have been released on CD in
their entirety. The reissues have been mixed from
original tapes by John Mcentire, A remix CD follows'.

    and -

'Jamie Hodge is launching a reissue label called
Aestuarium, whose first release will be Phil Cohran
and the Artistic Heritage Ensemble's ultra rare 1967
debut album. Cohran played trumpet with Sun Ra in the
70s and the Artistic Heritage Ensemble is another
guise for funk heroes The Pharoahs'.

this site gave me a few problems actually (looks
shockwave heavy) using both navigator and explorer on
a mac. Jamie Hodge is in the absolutely wondrous
Conjoint btw. Are there any other Phils whose back
catalogue is ripe for reissue, I wonder...(Ochs ?
Wilson ? Goodhand -Tait ? Lynott?)

    cheers
