"keep rising..." is by keni burke, and "mellow
mellow..." is by lowrell. btw, both of
those are classic hiphop breaks. "keep rising" is
most *famously* sampled by mary j.
blige's "love no limit" (i don't know which hiphop
track sampled it, but i'm sure mary
wasn't first), and "mellow mellow" was used by massive
    attack for "lately" (probably not
first either). i know that on the dustygroove site
    (www.dustygroove.com) i've seen
tracks referred to as "two step" or "steppers" and
they weren't talking about mj cole or
    wookie...

The kind of two-step that Dego was referring to is
    sort of a mid-tempo
R&B thing. Here in Chicago, we call it Steppers
    music. In Detroit, they
call it Ballroom. It bears little resemblance to the
    two-step discussed
on this list. A good example of that tempo would be
    "Keep Rising to the
Top" or "Mellow Mellow, Right On" (I can't remember
    the artists names at
this moment). Both of these are very popular
    Steppers cuts in Chi-Town.
In short, the groove is fast enough to move to, but
    it's much slower than
house, flavored with much more R&B. In fact, It's
    STILL called TWO-STEP
in certain areas of the U.S.
