Once a year, musicians, poets and artists come together to create an event filled with the culture of resistance. This year, we dedicate the event to Stolen Lives-a project by the Iris Baez Foundation, the National Lawyers Guild and the October 22nd Coalition Against Police Brutality and the Criminalization of a Generation. There are now over 2,000 names collected since the project began in 1996. ArtSpeaks! will give voice to those who can no longer speak. This concert is happening at a time when the truth about police brutality has become a part of the national conversation in unprecedented ways. There is not a week that passes when millions of people are not touched by another victim's voice. The Stolen Lives Project has brought the families together nationwide and they are no longer silent.
