    Tribe Called Quest (esp. Midnight Mauraders + Low End Theory LPs)
    De La Soul (rec. Stakes is High)
    The Roots
    Jeru da Damaga
    Pharcyde
    Slum Village
    Mos Def

    lots more - but these are kinda essential for a basic collection...
    no-apologies for my jazzy-taste in hip-hop :-)

    for a bit of UK action (rare but watch this space!) might be worth checking
    out Ty and also Roots Maneuver.
