Haven't read the article yet, will when I get a chance to hop down to the
net.
Just like to say that Gil-Scott Heron played Dublin, Ireland last Saturday,
and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Even though it was an
all seater affair, the energy converging from stage and crowd was possibly
the most electric I've witnessed. And for the last 40 mins or so everyone in
the house was on their feet, bopping and shakin' there groove like peeps
possessed (which we were;-), and the calls for encores at the end were
almost deafening, and definitely the most enthusiastic I've been involved
in.
Go back two hours, and one of my mates, returning from the bar, informed us
that, he'd seen GSH, and that he "looked out of it" certainly made us
nervous about what to expect, added to the fact that on his last two dates
in Dublin he never showed up, helped push this gig through the stratosphere
into an event which I'm not sure I'll ever see the likes of again. But I'll
pay the $45 and go check out George Clinton next week, and hope he can scale
the dizzy heights of the Minister for Information.
