    Hi,

yesterday i went to a performance of Dr. Lonnie Smith (not the Liston one ;)
...he did a performance here in Utrecht in a venue called "De vloer" , not
much of promotion, so i guess something like 100 people showed up...

He peformed together with 3 dutch jazz musicians (can't remember or find
their names anymore, one musician from the new cool collective), setup was
Lonnie on Hammond, one person on drums, a guitarist and a saxophonist...

sound was good, although i didn't like the reverb effect they used, prolly
because they were making recordings for a live CD..

    performance was solid...nice classic acid-jazz style hammond-driven
stuff....some balads thrown in....reminded me a lot of the ronny jordan
stuff because the guitarplayer did some nice solo work...everything was a
littlebit on the classic safe side, not too much adventure, but nice and
    tight...

on the whole an enjoyable evening....

    Olaf
