I'm going tonight to see Waldeck at Joe's Pub in New York (10:30pm). Check the Waldeck page at Epitonic (can't recommend Epitonic highly enough); it's got 4 tracks to stream or download....

      Hi people

It has been posted on some playlists on
our very own AJ list, and it is definately worth
picking up for utter moodish, sentimental
      entertainment.

The track I am referring to is Waldeck ; This
      isnt maybe.

The vocal is Chet Baker, and I was wondering
if any one knows off what it is sampled.???

Cannot wait till the album hits the streets,
since Waldeck is one of my heroes.

Originally his talents were spotted by K & D
and soon after he quit his job as a lawyer in
Vienna to persue his wonderfull taste in music.
THank you so much for that mature descision :-)

The act known as Waldeck is the work of one Klaus Waldeck, a producer for Vienna's Spray Records, home to work by Kruder & Dorfmeister and Count Basic. Waldeck's work is similar earthy downtempo, though many of his productions reflect the recruitment of vocalists, similar to Massive Attack. After contributing a track to the Spray compilation The Eclectic Sound of Vienna, Waldeck released his debut full-length Balance of the Force in 1999. Along with an American distribution deal through E-Magine, an accompanying remix album was released in the United States as well. Who Is Waldeck, his second LP, was released in fall 2000. - John Bush
