the track that had the most mail last week!

    5*. Truby Trio - High Jazz (K7) 12"
This we think lifted from the forthcoming DJ Kicks series for
the 'on it' K7 label. Rainer and the guys deliver the exclusice
track from their forthcoming musical journey. As always, TT
    keep the

6*. Cleveland Watkiss - It's only Sweat (Touchdown) CD
Slighty above average album but whooooo what a killa
track in 'It's only sweat'. Cleveland roughing it up like the
good ol' days with Outside and Project 23!

    7. Dapp - First Off (Dub Version)(Omoa) CD-R
Ta to the Recloose for putting this my way. Taken from
excellent sampler doing the rounds with hot new Detroit bizniz!

music from Marc Alphonse and Ayro. Check the website on
    www.omoamusic.com for the lowdown.

grips with this track. The deep cellist mix so off the wall. Real
    lefty house music!

    9. Jon Cutler feat E-Man - It's Your's (Chez) 12"
The bouncy tune! Proper uplifting house music. This tune
cannot fail on the dance floor. Even it's slightly cheesy vocal

the cheesy vocals! It's in the box.

10*. Cosmic Village - Mixt Generation (For Life) CD
New long player from Japan with 6 original compositions and
4 remixes from the Jazztronik, Recloose, Flytronix and Mustang
crews. Tight production and arrangements as ever with this
    classy Japanese crew.

    11. Spacek - Curvatia (Island Blue) 2xLP
If you into the sound of twisted Hip Hop then this is essential.
Ever since we heard the edgy 'Eve' we knew this crew
would come through with a worthy long player. In the shops
    too!

    12. Espen Horne - Nhu begin'n (Hospital) 12"
What a steal! Those nice peeps at the red door have
decided to include a exclusive track to their 'Out
Patients' sampler. As far as I'm aware, not to be
included on the new album so grab this when and
where you can. Anybody who caught the show in
London will know about this track.

    13. Bazille Noir - Mister M (Klein) 12"
Part 4 of the 'Sincerely Yours' series. Ta the crew on
Gumpendorfer Street for thrusting this sweet swinging
soundtrack groove in my hands. Think Mancini,
Morricone, Quincy, Lalo hanging out in the Flex club!

    14*. Lucy Pearl - Without You (Dwele remix)(Virgin) 12"
That man Dwele back with a warm and soothing remix

    the block!

BB long player not disappointing! We all know about
the awesome 'Divers' track and some may still be

on a Comet twelve recently. BB take a chilled
    out approach to their music!

    17. The Lost Scrolls of Hamaric - Royal Jelly (Best Seven) 7"
Think I may be a little late on charting this, though has been
in the CD-R case for some time now. Stephan Moerth the

Nice diverse and original long player.

22*. Jimmy Smith - Dot com blues (Sao Benitez remix)(Universal Jazz) 12"

of Out Patients. All new and exclusive and featuring the cream
of today's top production teams. Jazztronik, Swell Session, Les
Gammas, Landslide etc. Even the 'Future Homosapiens'

Vikings moving in! Eivind Olsvik and the Moussejuus
massive coming with a new label! And what a way to start.
We be thinking Norway's answer to Moodymann with plenty
of bottom end and superb keyboards touching the tops.
Nuff Norwegian invasion of our shores!

    25. V/A - Le Nouveau du Jazz (Irma) 2xLP
We checking this for two tasty exclusives from two tasty
producers! Dem being the 'Recloose' and the 'Domu'
As always, Matt and Dominic taking it to the edge of the
envelope. Pushing even more boundaries and taking
21st music by the scruff of its neck! Album also
containing remix pressure past from Ian O'Brien and
the Volcov for Soul Drummers and Space Clique.

    26. Block 16 - Find an Oasis (Nuphonic) CD-R
Suckaz for the strings, hold on to your arm chairs!
This gonna Bunson burn ya! Jhelisa returns with
the voice over but the orchestration and the bossa
groove killing us ever so slowly. Fug quiet things
down with a solid remix too. Still haven't got vinyl :(

    27. Kyoto Jazz Massive - Eclipse (Afronaught remixes)(Compost) 12"
Forthcoming twelve from Munich via the land of the
rising sun. A little detour on the way to North Acton
were O-Dawg or Orange Water as he is now known, hot
of the heels of 'Transcend Me' gets to grips with a
Okino Bros classic. We digging the new track too.

    28. Bluprint - Freedub (Expectional) 12"
Another Nik Weston classic! Another slice of chilled
grooveness for your warm up set! Number 4 in the Sky
EP series. We be chilling our boots to this!

    29. Aardvarck - Spoken (Nubian Mindz mixes)(Rush Hour) 12"
Been shouting about this crew from Holland for some
time now and 'Oh my god' Colin Lindo aka 'Nubian
Mindz' from the Archive, Reinforced camps comes with
two blinding remixes. One Detroit house creamer and one
absolute no buts 'broken beater' belter. Look out for the
finished copy which will come with Domu bizniz!

    30. Nicole Conte - Forma 2000 (Les Gammas remix)(Schema) CD-R
Dem boys on a roll! Les Gammas come with the lick
on this tasty jazz come soundtrack monster. Right now,
Les Gammas the most prolific and productive of the
European crews and top tip from da Cuki, do not pass
any mix or any release from them.

    #### #### Coffee Compliment #### ####

    Charles Sullivan - Genesis
    Strata East, SES 7413 (1974)
Recently reminded to me by a couple of cool cats on NJW.
Been meaning to dig this one out ever since Les Gammas
reworked a version of the tragic 'Now I'll Sleep'. It seems
that the Les Gammas version is destined to sit on the shelf
for a while so thought it best to root out the original source.
This album also made an appearance on the Inner City imprint
two years later (IC 1012). Dee Dee Bridgewater sings with total
conviction of one's last moments alive. Songs about suicide are
always edgy and dark but this has a surreal beauty in its tragedy.
You really do feel her peace! Never once in all the times I have
listened to this track have I ever been disturbed. Dee Dee's
delivery of the lyrics is nothing short of amazing. She captures
the complete essence of this tragic topic! Some have said that
this is the strongest she has ever sang! Sullivan's trumpet solo
at the end and Stanley Cowell's piano add to the haunting mood.
