    hi Madeline,

You're in luck (if they have rooms) 'cause I just had to scramble for a hotel
in Montreal a coupla weeks ago, which meant investigating a number of places I
    hadn't stayed at previously.

The best of the lot, in terms of cleanliness and price, was a place called La
Résidence du Voyageur. It cost us @ $70 (Canadian, of course) per night which
also included coffe/juice and a croissant in the a.m. Small, clean, pleasant
and very central (Sherbrooke a little E. of St. Denis, which means about a 15
minute walk to most Jazz Fest venues.

Hope that helps. If you've got a little more than that kind of budget to
spare, you shouldn't have a problem BUT book ahead 'cause the Montreal fest is
totally amazing, takes over much of the city, and definitely means busy
    hotels. Good luck.
