No I'm not referring to Howie B's unbelievable super ambient album, but what I listened to as a teen (or the past couple years as I have just turned 20.) Not being the musical connoisseur I am today, I went on a musical exodus that when looking back can only be seen as a "logical progression." (I love throwing in album names as one can see) Beginning in the early nineties I was like every other mainstream teenager, listening to the new sound of alternative. How can one forget and not miss the days of rebellion with such classic artists as pearl jam, nirvana, and stone temple pilots? They were truely excellent pioneers of that musical time and genre. I'd say that continued for about five years until I embarked on a trip to Israel. On the last day, I purchased a CD I'd never heard of: Essential Mix 3 which consisted of three discs, each spun by a different dj. Yes those lengendary artists were Tong, Oakenfold, and Jon Carter. I'd never heard of any of these djs let alone this !
    ty!
pe of music. I instantly fell in
love. When I arrived back in the states I started to delve into the electronic genre beginning with big beat and house with mainstream artists as the chemical brothers, crystal method, and the orb... Then one day I picked up LTJ's Logical Progression which I absolutely hated. It wouldn't be for another year that I'd pop that disc back in and immediately fall into an ecstacy. What was I thinking? (I love it when I pop in a disc later and love it for the first time, its a great feeling.) After years of drum 'n bass, going through dark then intelligent I needed to slow down the tempo. Logically, I turned to trip hop where there are just too many damn good artists to name. Although I have moved on from trip hop to explore underground hip hop, jazz, and classical, I can't say one is better than the other, for all these musical forms are true and can't be lived without. That is the story of my musical exodus, hope you all enjoyed. Any questions please feel free to ask. I'd be int!
    er!
sted to talk about specific albu
ms with whomever, as I'm always looking for new artists (I seem to have them all).
    Peace
