Just back from a trip that brought me around Asia: the Philippines, Hong
Kong, People's Republic of China, Singapore and Malaysia...
I [e:trinity] played three shows in the Philippines, most of which were
real well-recieved, and they even have a healthy live PA scene in Manila,
so I was in good company.
I checked out the clubs in Hong Kong...THEY SUCK! It's got *THE WORST* club
scene for a city of that sort of population and stature. THE WORST!
DONT *EVER* GO CLUBBING IN HONG KONG (but it's the bomb for shopping
though...) You'll hear nothing but commercial house music and weak cover
bands. Also, one night I paid HK$40 for dinner and then later went to a
club. I paid HK$53 for a beer. One beer! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!?!
Singapore was pretty cool, they're real into deep house and big beat in
that town. Most of the clubs are lame commerical house fare, but this one
club, Zouk, is pretty cool.
So what did I miss here? (email privately)
