Okay, I just fingered through the February and March archives on things
that caught my interest:
2-STEP: If you wanna hear 2-step, go to www.heavyweightsound.com
SAMBASSIM: So it's going to be on an EP that will e released in a few
weeks. Gee, I heard the same thing back in NOVEMBER 2000...
BREAKESTRA: When you see them for the first time, your jaw will drop to the
floor and they'll probably have to send out the janitor to mop up your drool.
When you see them the second time, you'll think they're cool and you're
glad to see them again.
The third time on, they get quite boring. Their rendition of Lyn Collins'
"Think" ceases to be a spectacle. DJ Wolf's "singing" starts to become
incredibly annoying. You begin to walk out of the club early, or just hang
out outside with friends. I dunno, maybe I'm just cynical. But they ARE
worth seeing live, at least just once.
SLIDE FIVE: They broke up a couple years back. The Warrin brothers now live
in New York. Jon Warrin does stuff with DJ Swingsett. Dave Warrin produces
deep house with his wife as the vocalist.
RONI SIZE WAS IN LOS ANGELES? Cactus Boy, you were there?
GILLES PETERSON WAS IN LOS ANGELES? He spun "Sambassim"??!?
KEVIN ENGLAND WAS IN LOS ANGELES?!?!
Damn, I missed a lot... :)
