If I recall correctly, "FLute Thing" first made an appearance on a recording
by a group called The Blues Project that had Al Kooper as one of its members
from before th SuperSessions album he did with Steven Stills and it is also
on a live album by the Blues Project. Seatrain was made up of some of the
original members of Blues Project, Danny Kalb and others.
Does anyone else out there know this music, Blues Project, that is? They did
some interesting jazz-rock things around the time that Blood, Sweat and
Tears were getting going. Which reminds me, has anyone heard the Blood,
sweat version of Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage"? It's a version I like a
lot!
