        Arturo Sandoval (Possibly the greatest trumpet and flugelhorn player in
    the world. . .protege of Dizzy Gillespie with his own brand of Afro-Cuban
    salsa, mambo, Latin jazz, and even classical -- the man is a living legend
    and genius.)

        Sonny Rollins (Another living legend.  Began playing the sax with
    Thelonious Monk, and has also gigged and recorded with Miles, Bird and a
    multitude of others. Considered by many to be on a par with Charlie Parker
    and Coltrane.)

       Afro Rican Ensemble (International sextet playing a spicy blend of Latin
    music, combined with traditional jazz to create their own flavorful sound
    they call "Soul-sa")

       Russell Gunn (Eclectic trumpet player -- a musical chameleon capable of
    blowing butter toned licks, jamming with a cutting edge acid jazz attitude,
    or chilling out an audience with cool grooves.  A true innovator in brass
    driven jazz, blues and funk.)

       Saskia Laroo     (An exciting trendsetter in crossover music.  A hot
    trumpet player from Holland -- who started out with Candy Dulfer playing in a
    funk cover band -- who can play just about anything.  She can blow like
    Miles, and then switch over into an electro-rave or acid jazz groove.)

       Chucho Valdes (A masterful and powerful pianist, recent Grammy winner,
    gale force Cuban musician blending Cuban rhythms with American jazz)

       Dee Dee Bridgewater (Recognized as one of the finest and most versatile
    jazz singers today.)
    8:30 PM -- MAINSTAGE
       Terence Blanchard (Trumpeter who started out with Art Blakey, and has
    since played with everybody from Branford Marsalis to Quincy Jones. . .his
    creative musical presence can be heard and felt in most of Spike Lee's movie
    soundtracks.)
