Pick of the Week: A compilation out of Sweden recently caught my ear.
Named in honour of a popular and innovative Stockholm club night, Good
People came out late last year via the Flora & Fauna / King Syndrome
Sounds labels. I just discovered it a coupla weeks back, thanks to Night
and Day / Select Distribution, responsible for bringing these chilled
dubby, techy grooves into Canada. The bass is deep and smoothly rugged
(generally speaking, that would be an oxymoron, but dubheads know what I
mean), and the tracks are solid. Check www.brilliant.nu for more info,
as well as for word of the second Good People comp as well as a
full-length from Bacuzzi, one of the standout artists featured here.
