It has been too long since I sent out an e-mail update. I'm sorry, it has
been a case of waiting for my gig schedule to settle down as well as waiting
for what now seems like a 'hypothetical' right time to send out an e-mail
about you coming out of your place of sanctity to hear me play music while
spending money that you think you might need to be saving on drinks.

I won't be naive like our leaders and tell you to ignore the world for a
drink and a headnod, but I do believe that along with being vigilante and
resolute, that we don't forget to allow ourselves the things that make us
feel good. For my 15-month-old son, an animal cracker and his mother's
smooch is bliss. For me, playing and watching people enjoy and discover
different vibes in the vast world of music is heaven.

I'm still Djing in places where you are used to finding me, (Ludlow Bar,
Naked Lunch, Mica Bar) and in places I haven't sent e-mails out to let you
know about (SX137, SPA, Gemini Lounge). This note is to update you on where
and when to find my mixed 'seedees' and me As always and now more than ever,
my DJ style is to introduce to my brethrens and sistrens, the best in
"Neo-Soul," thug and material excess-free Hip Hop, jazzy-funky beats and
instrumentals, dance classics from beneath and above the surface, and lately
    the sounds of latin-jazz & afro-beats.

So this is not a note to ask you to attend every gig but just to remind you
that when you need the music I play, I'm there, somewhere, for you.

    Weeklies

< Mondays @ Ludlow Bar, 165-7 Ludlow Street (Between Houston & Stanton),
Lower East Side of Manhattan. 10PM-4AM, Lounge + Dancing

Nearly 5 years for this party in a space that is transforming. Has been and
will stay one of New York's funkiest and friendly parties. With help from my
man DJ Ian Marquis, the music is always of good spirit and diverse. The
smoothness and unpredictably are two of the reasons why this party is already
looking forward to its 6th year.
    ------------------------------

< Tuesdays @ Naked Lunch, 17 Thompson Street (cross street Grand), SOHO,
6PM-2AM (DJ set starts at 7pm with DJ Eddie Ed the quick learning new jack
from the motherland getting it on at 10pm). Lounge + Dancing

Tuesdays are like a best of both worlds kind of night. You'll get me taking
you on that far out musical journey as I play a lot of my new discoveries in
the warm environs of Naked, then my man Eddie Ed goes for broke with a bit
more of the rugged fabulous commercial Hip Hop n RnB vibe and those very
familiar classics (the man has the goods in his crates though - that is just
    the dynamic of the party).
    ------------------------------

< Wednesdays earlier that night @ Mica Bar and later that night @ Spa

    Mica Bar, 252 East 51st Street (between 2nd & 3rd avenue), Midtown 7pm-11pm,
    Lounge

Mica Bar is the spot for the people who work in Midtown who would like to
actually walk to a place where I'm playing after that long day at the office.
I bring the best of the eclectic downtown sound to the sometimes unjustly
perceived as un-hip Midtown…the East side even. No, not a haven for the
funkiest New Yorkers, look to the L.E.S. and ForteGreenBK for that, but still
a place where I can play whatever to a very open mined and international crowd
…the U.N. is a few blocks away. Mica has 2 levels and plenty of seating for
those with hurtin feet! And very good sound…nice warm and bass heavy.

    NEW WEDNESDAY PARTY ALERT!!!
    ALERT NEW PARTY WEDNESDAY!!!

SMF - Soul Music First @ Spa (the 2nd room), Dancing
    Spa, 76 E. 13th St. (Between University & Broadway)

At last I get to do party that connects me with some of my peers (the has
about 100 remixes all over the globe) DJ Spinna and the sincerest man in
music DJ Bobbito aka Cucumber Slice. Scheduling permitting, we will all play
together at some point but expect at least one of us on the wheels @ SPA on
Wednesday nights from 12AM-4AM (a nice late start for my late nighters who
come to my gigs when I'm packing up the tunes). Expect the unexpected
regarding music but do expect the music to be funky and soulful. Recommended
for heads who love Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, D'angelo, Bilal,
Sunshine Anderson, Tribe Called Quest…you know that feel good sh*t! But on a
    nice big system.
    ------------------------------

    < Thursdays @ Gemini Lounge, 221 2nd Avenue (between 13th & 14th Street),
    Dancing +Lounge

This is that elusive Thursday party vibe that I've been trying to get back
since my Izzy Bar days. Hosted by four beautifully minded women who want
nothing but sexy and soulful (and respectful to everybody) music. Expect
tons of R&B from the 90's til present and certainly the twist and turns of
classic reggae, 80's grooves, deep jazzy house, and definitely a bit of UK
    Street-Soul and Hip Hop.
    ------------------------------

    < FRIDAY - ONCE A MONTH - THIS MONTH NOV 16th

Friday @ Sol Restaurant, 229 Dekalb Avenue (crosses Claremont) BROOKLYN,
    Dancing +Lounge

Think a combination of all of the above…but in Forte Green. What a beautiful
night in a beautiful neighborhood. Hosted by Charles and Loida, Sol is the
Friday spot in BKNY…every Friday! I'm glad to be in the rotation with many
of NYC best DJs in the underground music world. Remember, I do it once a
month and this month is November 16th. Also you can get my mixed "seedees" at
    SOL.

    NEW VENUE ALERT!!!
    NEW WEEKLY GIG ALERT!!!

    < Saturday @ SX137, 137 Essex Street (between Stanton & Rivington), Lower
East Side, Lounge + Restaurant + Dancing if you like

This place has the best sound system that I have ever heard in a restaurant.
The place is wired to make you feel like you are in the speakers. Very warm
and clear sound system. A great place to have an inexpensive meal (most
expensive dish is $9) and sit back and enjoy the absolute best in my record
collection. SX137's management wants me to do my thing to the fullest from
the abstract to the funky. The space is pure L.E.S. style and has impressed
everyone who has seen it. Come to check the artwork that is displayed and is
    changed every few months.

    ------------------------------

Last note, I just returned from England from a three gigs in three cities in
three nights. Although England is right there with America during our
world's crisis, in the UK people seemed surreally disinterested in being
concerned with their safety in light of what's happening in the world…another
words, I played at a club that held 700 people on Friday, the doors opened at
10pm and it was capacity by 10:30pm…people were turned away. Having been
there for 2 day without one conversation about the world's affairs, the
subject came up during a conversation and a woman named Andrea looked me dead
in my eye and told me that in the UK "in times of crisis people seem to go
out and celebrate life and party even harder."

Be safe, be smart, be aware, and if come hear some new and exciting music.
