FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hip funk, soulful, groove-filled Jazz Trio, The Waz, is New Skool + Old Skool
+ Ambient Dance Floor Music + Acid Groove = Ethnofusion Funk Jazz at it's
finest....!
The Waz has been invited to play a premiere slot at this year's 111th AES
Convention as the headlining act at the SONY WONDER PARTY, at the SONY
Building in NYC, from 7:00pm until 9:30pm, on Friday, November 30th!
The Waz will feature songs from their acclaimed summer release EP entitled
"4x3" (4 by 3), as well as songs from the upcoming full feature CD they'll be
releasing this Winter. In fact, The Waz comes to this event immediately
following the last day of recording at a studio up in their original hometown
of Buffalo.
The Waz will be back in NYC on Thursday, January 17th, 2002, at the Knitting
Factory, Mainspace, 74 Leonard Street, NYC, to feature one of their fabulous
FUNK-OFF productions. This groovy slice of jazz entails two funk bands,
joining together on stage together, answering and calling their best - with
an all-out jam at the end of each set! Massachusetts based FREELANCE BISHOPS
will be joining The Waz onstage for a funky good time! An up and coming NYC
based soulful band called JSAN will open the evening for The Waz and
Freelance Bishops. This is another evening no one will want to miss!
The Waz believe in bringing jazz back onto the dance floor...they believe in
Sound & Vision and all that music, integrated with all the arts, has to
offer...with a positivity supporting every note they play. Their message
supporting proactive consciousness and a general rule to "Stick Together",
the title of one of their original works, cannot come at a better time than
the present.
You can check out The Waz online at www.thewaz.com; and AES at www/aes.org
for more information.
