    hi everyone,

Back at'cha with another gig update. A number of people have written
requesting Mental Chatter playlists and also updates and links on recent
articles and reviews I've written for eye Weekly and Exclaim mag of
late... ya'll keep me busy! Sorry I've fallen behind on those fronts,
things have just been super busy. Rest assured though, if you're looking
for those bits of info (especially you record label people and serious
collectors/readers out there!), it's coming soon. I'm working away on
updates and will send out asap. Promise!

Alrighty, before I head into the gig info and ticket giveaways, I have
MORE thank-you's to pass your way. Two weeks back, I was expressing
heaps of gratitude to all of you who supported Mental Chatter and CKLN's
fundFEST drive. Today, I want to thank those of you out there who have
supported me individually of late. I was feeling kinda shy about
mentioning the following stuff until a couple of folks asked me point
blank as to why I wasn't acknowledging people's support. Hadn't thought
about it like that... so here goes. Guess I should adopt Greg Clow's
approach, and like him soak up the 'media whore' status while it lasts!
    ;-)

ï A huge thank-you 'n tip of the proverbial hat to those of you in the
T.O. club scene (yeah, all you 'industry types' ;-) who voted to make me
the, um, "top vote-getter" in eye Weekly's recent 'Behind the Decks'
poll of the 'most influential players in the Toronto club scene.' A very
pleasant surprise that still has me warm 'n tingly all over. Oh wait.
Maybe that's the space heater! ;-)

ï An equally heartfelt thank-you to everyone reading this who wrote in
to NOW Magazine's Reader's Poll for 2001, voting me Toronto's 'Best Club
DJ' again this year! It's an honour, especially when one focuses on more
underground sounds! Here's where you can read about it, and check the
other categories 'n winners if you haven't already:

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you...and also to those of who who've been
coming out steadily to our glide Wednesdays at the Gypsy. It's been
wicked 'n wonderful! Here's the scoop on what's coming up:

and, a very special guest I'm honoured to bring to town:

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 5: NYC producer and DJ Nickodemus makes his Toronto
debut! I'm totally hyped about this one as he's someone who I've admired
and appreciated for some time. A brief bio follows. $ 8 at the door for
    this one.

Nickodemus is a renaissance man who looks to the past to create earthy,
forward-looking grooves. As a DJ, he was resident at Giant Step NYC for
four years, and currently plays regularly in Vienna, Puerto Rico, and as
the decks ën effects manipulator in jazz percussionist Mino Cineluís
four-piece fusion ensemble. Nick also runs ëtings, with partner Mariano,
at Turntables On the Hudson, hugely popular pier parties that have
spawned a series of compilation CDís for their own RhythmLove Records.
Turntables on the Hudson 3 is a stunning collection of original dub,
beats, Latin + global grooves, dancefloor jazz and more. Essential, as
is Nickodemusí production work with Osiris, including their saxy,
Afro-Latin underground dancefloor smash "Free Souls" and remix of the
Latin Projectís "En Fuego" (both on Giant Step). His Toronto debut is
not to be missed! www.turntablesonthehudson.com www.rhythmlove.com
