    No, I wasn't confusing this with trance (which I hate). I based this on
    going to events in Manila, Philippines where the GrooveNation crew holds
    down a predominantly deep-house sound, and going to Singapore's Zouk club,
    where all I heard all night was deep house and breakbeat. Other clubs in
    that city that I passed by had commercial house, bhangra and yet even more
    deep house emanating from inside.

    I also visited Hong Kong, which I didn't have a very good clubbing
    experience, but noting the posters on the walls with big-name UK trance DJs
    on them, I would guess that sort of music is big there.
