    > yeah, I'd have to agree about the Ninjas, too. I LOVE the Solid Steel
Presents DJ Food & DK mix CD. That whole Cinematic Orchestra Vs. Jeru The
Damaja mix on track 2 is wicked, and I love the "Mirror In The Bathroom"
mix into jungle. And the Mr. Scruff Vs. DJ Vadim/Moshun Man mix is
    outstanding.

This is THE MIX!!! As a dj I thought to quit when I first heard this mix
    CD. Masterpiece!

    > Other than this release, it has been a quiet year for the Ninjas. There
was a time when I'd buy first and listen later because I just knew that the
Ninja logo was a symbol of consistent headphone-blowing beat nastiness.
But lately, I'm more cautious (damn recession?). While I do like the Roots
Manuva album, it's not one for the ages. And I really was disappointed
with that Coldcut single, and the albums by Neotropic, Antibalas, Fink, and
    Up Bustle & Out.

Sorry, but I don't agree. The Antibalas album is fantastic (OK, it's a
"simple" afrobeat stuff, but how excellent). And what about the Chris
Bowden "Beautiful Nasty" tune? And the Poets of Rhythm album? I think Ninja
is still No. 1, when it comes to groundbreaking music.

    > Where are the Herbaliser and Mr. Scruff when you need them the most? I
have a feeling it's uphill from here on out through 2002.

I had the chance to listen to the forthcoming Herbaliser album this
September at their studio (Jake and Ollie were still working on it) and I
can tell you that it is really worth to wait! It' more cinematic than
Cinematic Orchestra! It's more psychedelic and symphonic than Axelrod!
Expect a bit less hip hop but lot more 70s soundtrack vibes!

    Peace,
