Can one really fault a fan's expectations? I've definately
been guilty of holding very high hopes for new releases,
especially when an artist's first effort was so ground
breaking. I guess I'd rather keep my hopes up about
upcoming albums rather than being just another jaded cynic.
In light of recent discussions on the list, I've been
listening a lot to Mama's Gun (Erykah Badu), and I may have
to grudgeingly admit that the album has more to offer than
I originally gave it credit for...

A useless tidbit whose veracity is questionable, but I
heard one of the reasons that Kid Koala's debut album was
so oft delayed was due to the immense pressure he felt
while putting Carpal Tunnel.. together. Quite a buzz had
built about him, and his debut mixtape was the stuff of
legend, but he'd spent several years, the majority of his
life actually, putting it together, collecting the records,
fine tuning the routine. Now faced with coming up with a
full-length in the space of a year, it's no wonder he was a
little stressed..
