Koch Jazz Celebrates Chico Hamilton's FORESTSTORN CD
_______________________________________________________
Joyous Shout! is HAPPY to announce that Legendary Jazz Drummer &
Bandleader Chico Hamilton and his young "Euphoria" group- with Cary
DeNigris on guitar, Paul Ramsey on bass, Erik Lawrence on alto and
soprano sax, and Evan Schwam on tenor sax- will be performing October
16th for a Koch Jazz Record Release Celebration at Joe's Pub, 425
Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10013 Tel. 212.239.6200 with one set
at 9 PM (also on bill is Kirk Nurock). This event is in collaboration
with The New School where both Chico and Kirk teach. More information
is available from either Donald (elfman@kochint.com) or Naomi
(yoshii@kochint.com) at Koch Jazz. This is Chico's first NYC
appearance since tearing down the house on the Out-Of-Doors Festival
at Lincoln Center 8/17 on a 80th Birthday Program titled "My Funny
Valentine- A Tribute to Chico Hamilton" with VERY Special Guest
Appearances by Joe Beck, Arthur Blythe, Larry Coryell, Akua Dixon,
Rodney Jones, and Eric Person!!
The following week Chico will be performing on the Free Jazz Festival
on October 25th at the Museum of Modern Art Club in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil with one set at 10 PM, and October 26th at the Jockey Club of
Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil with one set at 10 PM!! And just
confirmed are a series of East Coast IN STORE appearances for Borders
Bookstore, where Chico will perform solo on his drum kit, interact
with the audience, and sign copies of his FORESTSTORN CD!! These
appearances will be November 2nd 7 PM at the Borders at 1801 K Street
