    motion
    http://motion.state51.co.uk/

so what's new. well pretty much everything is new in the world of
motion. we've been hard at work on the technical side of things to
improve our services enormously to all our motion regulars. this is
now almost completed and we'll be doing a huge design overhaul over
the next couple of months to allow for all the platform changes and
make the site work still harder for our members. the forthcoming
results will be stunning, mark our words. meanwhile we're still
collating opinions on, information about and sounds of some of the
best musics of the world in the independent sector. latest reviews
include music by: Peaches, Four Tet, Stars of the Lid, David Lee
Myers, Rothko, Misha Alperin, Morton Subotnick, Dry & Heavy and
Zammuto. New interviews with Neotropic, To Rococo Rot and Kieran
Hebden of Fridge and Four Tet have also been added.

    Knowhere Guide
    http://www.knowhere.co.uk

    Hi there Dude Mondoes

In the horrible climate that we are facing, i.e. heavy rain,
prolonged at times especially in the north with strong winds and a
risk of gales, many of us need to throw another lump of coal on the
fire. Unfortunately the price of fuel is ever rising due to an
increase in demand as a direct result in growth of population. To
combat this we have taken it upon ourselves to place ads in the guide
in order to help cover the cost of the coal that runs the smoky
engines of the Knowhere Guide. So whether you fancy the new Stussy
imperial boots, a foxy bra, a bottle of plonk or maybe just a wee
break to the Seychelles or Barnsley just go to the guide and and get
    spending. (Please?).

As with the updates well there's loads, but we are wading our way
through them so please be patient. But as ever they're as hilarious
as they are useful. In Inverkip for example...

"That huge comedienne Jo Brand was down on Glebe Road playing Status
Quo on the banjo honest! Bobby Ball was on the drums..."
    http://www.knowhere.co.uk/3623_heroes.html

"I used to be chairman of the Billercay Youth Town Council, totally
unknown at the time. We tried to build a skateboard park and the
"Big" council couldn't get their act together in conjunction with the
"Little" Council. Both were full of idiots. I subsequently resigned
due to complete lack of patience!"
    http://www.knowhere.co.uk/539.html

"It's essential Bootle has a web site but I find it dead funny to see
stuff about me and my family and none of it is right. All the
    best......Janice Long"
    http://www.knowhere.co.uk/396_stuff.html

Well guys that's about it but finally I would just like to say a
special thank you to a contributor from Walsall. So many of you tell
us how much of a dump you all live in but this person actually proves
    it. Check this:

    Take care of your bits.

    Official moshi moshi records site
    http://www.moshimoshimusic.co.uk

welcome to another tedious moshi update here.

we are currently trying to disguise the fact we are very excited
about having j. xaverre as single of the week in the nme.

its very important we don't appear over-excited at times like this
'cos then people will start to suspect we weren't expecting it. and
then they might realise we've been bluffing about everything all
along and we'd have to shut up shop and flee the angry mob under
    cover of night.

so in light of this planned development i have moved the stock from
the bottom of my bed to the shops where you will be able to get your
hands on it from 22nd october.

this autumn we are attempting to alleviate the shorter-day-doom by
organising a bonanza of gigs, parties and pop quizzes. here are the
dates for the moshi doom lifting festival -

    14th october - matt harding, the windmill,sw2
18th october- moshi moshi party - smersh, ravey street ec2
21st october - matt harding, the windmill
23rd october - moshi moshi pop quiz - faltering fullback pub, perth rd, n4
1st november - matt harding, the 12 bar club, denmark place wc2
22nd november - matt harding, kashmir club, nottingham place, w1
28th november - moshi moshi gig featuring - matt harding, j xaverre,
ingo star cruiser, junkboy - spitz, commercial st, e1
13th december - moshi moshi xmas party - smersh, ravey st ec2

points will be awarded for attendance at each event and the person
with the highest score at the end will be embraced warmly by each
member of the moshi roster in turn. quite a prize i think you'll
agree, so don't forget those score cards.

    cheers!

    PlayLouder
    http://www.playlouder.com

We haven't seen a hoo-hah such as the one surrounding the White
Stripes since, well, the Strokes, but PlayLouder is a d a m EMAIL souljazzant that this
(huband/wife? brother/sister? who cares?) duo from Detroit is more
    than worthy of it.

Their video for upcoming single 'Hotel Yorba' is being shown
exclusively at Playlouder.com right now, where you'll also find
stacks of filth, lies and scurrilous rumours.

Er...and streaming radio, news, reviews and features on Felix Da
Housecat, Super Furry Animals, 4Hero, Le Hammond Inferno and more...

    the skam
    http://www.skam.com/

us lazy gits at the skam took a huge long summer break. we had to.
our brains were hurting. honest. but we're back now. phew! so what
have we been up to? well, recently we interviewed newbie beachboy
soundscapists simian in an antiques warehouse. there were a lot of
dead animals in glass cases. which was fine because that's the kind
of thing simian like. we also interviewed electronica star neotropic
in a churchyard flowerbed. she was quite good at pretending to be
david bellamy. and our latest face is mocky, who sings for the skam
at the zoo (well he sings for the red faced spider monkeys, actually,
but we filmed it) and then we spake to him in a london cab as he
rushed for his eurostar train back to his amsterdam abode... it's
probably one of our best interviews ever. and he's going to be a
    star. don't miss it...

    >REPORT FROM MONSTERISM H.Q OCTOBER
Much movement is afoot at the headquarters this month as the creatures are
set to leave their pens and travel west. Obviously their nerves are a little
frayed but we hope to inflict as little stress on them as we can, expert
handlers will be present at all times to insure their slumber like state.

We have also introduced a dual console entertainment module for staff
relaxation in the workshop - N**t**do 6* and P**ys***on are head to head
with N**t**do 6* taking first place at the moment, we are liking so much the
kids game Pilot Wings with Mario's face on Mt Rushmore!

An item of interest recently imported into the lab were Italian liquorice
twigs that went down well with Dr Bobcat with an overall rustic atmosphere
being evoked for approximately 30 minutes. We may be researching this
particular genre of chewing snacks/lumps of bark/dried squid,
good with beer? We'll let you know...

    Daniel Pemberton
    http://www.danielpemberton.com/

I've mainly been doing music for TV and fashion shows recently. Lost is on at
the moment and will be running throughout October every Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday night on Channel 4 at 10.30pm. It's a really great show and i'm
really pleased with how the music turned out - it's heavily influenced by
the Mission Impossible/Get Smart/DangerMan era of TV shows from the
    60's/70's.

Other TV shows coming up soon include a repeat of the excellent series
Escape From Colditz (Monday 15th, 22nd and 29th October at 8pm), a biog on
Frank Skinner (!) on ITV 26th October and the title music for the series
Coolhunters (Wednesday 24th October 9.50pm BBC2) and Pump Up The Volume - A
Brief History Of House Music (TX TBC Channel 4).

Also been doing fashion show scores and DJing. Supposed to get my arse in
gear and get round to putting some music out but i'm never any good at
putting time aside to do that. Must do that. Really. Remixed the Future
Sound Of London'e seminal Papa New Guinea under the name The Dual
Monophonic Kaleidoscopic Orchestra due out in Dec and done some arranging
work on their (will it ever get released?) next album which is prog rock
    heaven.

That is about it. Anyone know of a good library system for E-mu samplers on
    the Mac?

    Bye!
