hello everyone,
this is a horrfic day and I'm sure we're all still in shock. My heart broke
many time over watching the twin tower crumble like a stack of matches.
Some people get very excited to see mountains... trees...
glaciers...personally every single time I took the train or drove in to ny
my heart would flutter w/ excitement at the sheer energy and power of the
nyc skyline. I have grown up and still live approt 20 miles from nyc in new
jersey and I am still in utter shock that my be beloved mantra of the nyc
skyline has forever changed. The sheer magnitude of lives lost it simply
too much to take in.
We are all hurting...
Personally, I have never been so frightened as when I heard the first
fighter jets fly over central jersey (approx 11:30am). My fist imeadiate
thought was "oh my god it's another plane and it's going to hit us!" Then I
went out side and saw an F-18 fighter jet flying over head. The feeling of
uneasyness and unrest is utterly indescribable. It makes one realize how
lucky we are to live in a nation that is, basically, at peace. I am a
changed person. A piece of me and my hopes and dreams went down w/ those
towers.
as for pertinent songs ... all I can manage to think of is
Bob Marley - War odd that this came up a few days ago.
we need to stop all the classes, races, colors, religons and wars. it's
pointless
John Lennon - Imagine
Imagine there's no hell or heaven...it isin't hard to do
nothing to kill or die for no religion too.
If there is some power out there god, allah, karma, whatever...it's not
worth all this senseless death and destruction.
I can only say that my thoughts are with all of those who have lost or can't
find their loved ones, freinds, neighboors.
We will get through this together.
very fractured, but not broken,
joni
