Joyous Shout! is HAPPY to announce a busy Fall Schedule for Legendary
Jazz Drummer & Bandleader Chico Hamilton who turned 80 on September 21st!!
First up, Chico and his young "Euphoria" group- with Cary DeNigris on guitar,
Paul Ramsey on bass, Erik Lawrence on alto and soprano sax, and Evan Schwam
on tenor sax- will be featured in a national print advertising campaign for Macanudo
Cigars!! Second up, on September 26th, catch the Rebroadcast of the BET on Jazz
Program "Live at the Knitting Factory" (http://www.knittingfactory.com/television/)
featuring Chico and his young "Euphoria" group performing music from the new
FORESTSTORN album. Third up, performances for Chico and his young "Euphoria"
group are scheduled for September 29th at the Berklee Performance Center, 136
Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA 02115 with one set at 8 PM (also on bill is Danilo
Perez), October 16th for a Koch Jazz Record Release Celebration at Joe's Pub, 425
Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10013 with one set (also on bill is Kirk Nurock), and the
Free Jazz Festival on October 25th at the Museum of Modern Art Club in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil with one set at 10 PM, and October 26th at the Jockey Club of Sao Paulo in Sao
Paulo, Brazil with one set at 10 PM!! Last up, soon to be announced for the late Fall are a
series of East Coast (Washington, Baltimore, Philly, NYC and Boston) IN STORE
appearances for a national bookstore chain, with stops tentatively scheduled for Washington,
DC on November 2nd, Philadelphia, PA on November 8th, Westchester, NY on November
10th, and Boston, MA on November 16th, with Chico performing solo on his drum kit,
interacting with the audience, and signing copies of his FORESTSTORN CD!!
