i kept this system in my eye for quiet some time, as it's developed by
fellow dutchmen....i had a change to hear it some time ago when John
Aquaviva used it at a gig i also had to DJ.....some friends of mine noticed
the somewhat "flat" sound...it could be a number of things: beta-software,
bad encoding, bad decoding, bad DA-convertors, bad EQ'ing on the mixer by
John.....but the possibilities are VERY nice...personally i have no problem
with playing 160+ kbps encoded MP3's at all...lots of vinyl i hear is often
cut worse than a lot of digital encoded stuff i hear.....
personally i have been thinking of another device, cause i don't have a
problem at all with the jogshuttle interface that f.e. the pioneer CDJ
    series offers....i don't think it's worse than a vinyl interface.... so i
would prefer a little laptop like rubbercoated device with a dual interface
(jogshuttle, pitch-sliders, LCD displays, cue-controls etc) on top and a big
laptop inside with mp3 encoder inside, and a firewire or USB2 interface for
filetransfers.....portable and rugged and you can carry your playing device
and your music in 1 small device that fits in a backpack...
