Hello:
Our radio station is in need of a possible replacement for the professional
sound card that's currently in the production room computer. The type of card
currently installed is a Digidesign Audiomedia III card. The problem with this
particular card is that the chip on it is faulty (according to the
manufacturer's FAQ on its web site) and produces a crackling noise on playback.
I've tried the recommended software update, but to no avail. The card is no
longer warranted and the manufacturer wants an arm and a leg for the upgrade.
I'm willing to entertain any and all other alternatives. We have several
criteria:
1. It needs to run on a PC...we have Windows 98 installed.
2. It needs to have two L/R RCA jacks on the card.
3. It needs to be capable of recording analog input digitally.
The closest card that I was able to find was one called the Yamaha DSP Factory
(see @ http://www.innovativemusic.com.au/Products/Yamaha/ds2416.htm), but I've
found it through an Australian web site. If anyone knows of a similar model
card or better, please let me know. Also, a good U.S. vendor would help because
we need to take care of this matter as quickly as possible.
Thanks for your time.
Velanche
