we just had the opportunity to bring a few records down to a ninja
wedding reception held in a funky basement dive somewhere in darkest
south london over the weekend. as it was a do filled with more djs
than guests many dj's took the dexin rota... after i played three
tracks i was rushed & i did two on two off alternating with a ninjii
playing the latest london broken beats interspersed were some tunes
the girls were screaming for.
candi staton you got the love
sweet charles it's only you
clivilles cole deeper love 12 minute version
bill withers kissing my love
robert owens i'll be your friend
as we left someone said they missed hearing dub...
we had colourbox's baby i love you so
and deborah glasgow's i'm you're sugar rock steady versions
in the bag to play next...
we just went through our collection looking for uplifting
tracks across a funky gammit that had love in them...
if we were djing during a meal we would have thrown in a dash
of frank sinatra .... or like a turkish wedding i went to recently
had a blast of dean martin which was so bad it was actually good in
a funny sort of way.
some of us who have had dj careers have done weddings & you have
to remember to carefully talk to everyone before hand.
think we said that last time around and apologies in a big
way cause we slacked on making someone a cassette we think
