by no means are we the only ones, but i know for a
fact that both coasts have been blessed by dj's qool
marv (east) and t-bird (west--baybay!) doing this for
years.
i slip mix when it makes the most sense (e.g., the
track sounds goofy sped up/slowed down, i need to
change tempos, the tempos prohibit beat-mixing). my
theory has always been that the mix should be
seamless, or dramatic.
