STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)
Hello all
Massive thanks to everyone that called up during last week's show to offer
their support to RRR and Stylin. We literally can't do it without you. For
those of you who missed out, there'll be another opportunity this Friday to
call 9419 2066 and subscribe. Here are the rates (including GST):
$110 Passionate
$66 Full
$33 Concession
$110 Business
$66 Band/Artist/DJ/Pet
donations tax deductable
If it's easier, you can fill out this form online and a subscription form
will be sent to you: http://rrr.org.au/subscribe/main.htm. Or just email me
back.
Nuff reasons to subscribe, including massive giveaways for radiothon,
music/club/film/theatre and other giveaways all year, and exclusive Rooftop
Cafe performances from the likes of Jurassic 5. If these don't pay back the
cost of subscription, then the money you save from one of the many subcriber
discounters (including lots of record stores) just may. Remember that RRR is
not govenment funded, and depends primarily on listener subscriptions to
continue. It's only non-playlisted free-thinking radio like RRR that can
give you a weekly Stylin dose of rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and
other-worldly fusions.

Last week I took my first opportunity to look back at some of the amazing
music that has come upon my ears this year (and late last year). Not a
definitive "best of" (yet), just a few things that have stood out across the
full Stylin range of nu jazz, real jazz, hip hop, soul, house, brazilian,
downtempo, drum and bass, afrobeat, funk and broken beat.
More Play it Again this Friday, with some additional picks for RRR
subscribers (email yours back).
until then
