BEST KEPT SECRET back on the weekly inbox attack. That's right, another =
Wednesday upon us in the fine city of Toronto and hell yes, all around =
the world (except perhaps in Asia, where we're looking at tomorrow =
already). OK we promise to keep this missive as brief as possible (but =
we all know that's slightly impossible when you're afflicted with =
explainitis...)

Before we begin, we the BEST KEPT gyals --Dalia and Venus--send out much =
MUCH love to all that reached down to the 8th Anniversary party this =
past Monday. All of you made it one of the most memorable evenings =
we've ever had! The place was hot, people were working the dancefloor, =
the tunes were dope, and everyone was feeling the balloons! We've =
already gushed our thank yous to these people directly, but it doesn't =
hurt to gush a little bit more: Chocolate for the dope reggae cuts that =
set us at ease at the start of the night; Mel Boogie for the fresh hip =
hop that had our hands in the air every time the next tune dropped; =
Mike Tull for some seriously hot tweaky platter selections; Paul E Lopes =
for the heavy dancefloor action; Andrew Masuda for the conscious easing =
of the eve; Masia One and Sunny D for freaking some rhymes live =
('Popular Girls' for real!); Symbolik Music Crew for blessing the mic =
with some BEST KEPT call-and-response; the SheBang! breakers for getting =
nice on the dancefloor; and of course each one of you that came through =
the front door. We raised a lot of cash for CHRY's upcoming fundraising =
drive! Thank you thank you thank you for making the night so =
special...we feel so inspired and rejuvenated from all the love. =

after working the crowds into a frenzy at the Warped Tour, so Venus is =
on the turntable prowl...

Tomorrow night (Thurs Aug 22), Venus will be playing that hip hop at the =
Fearless Vampire Killers/Fatski show going down at Sneaky Dee's, right =
at the corner of College and Bathurst. Should be pretty cheap, so if =
you're into seeing some truly dope live hip hop, you won't wanna miss =
this. =20

On Friday night, come support some art. The 401 Dance Collision is =
putting together a benefit party to raise money for a couple of =
showcases featuring dancers and choreographers from Montreal and Toronto =
exploring interesting forms of moving expression. Providing the vibes =
will be X-Ray from Montreal, Moonstarr, and Venus once again. Goes down =
at the Dovercourt Ballroom (805 Dovercourt Rd, 1 block N of Bloor).

And come reach down Tuesdays at Tempo (596 College St. at Clinton), =
where Venus spins up a nice melange (you like the word,eh?) of jazzed =
out rhythms, both classic and new. Love out to Aga, Brad, Corrinka, =
Tom, and Rahim aka Secret Agent Man that reached last night. Free =
