Groove Distribution Highlights for 12-16-02

These are just some of the highlights from this week's New Releases List:
Abstract/Downtempo/Leftfield: Andrew J. & Kaltenecker the turntablist and
jazz piano player duo drop their debut full length on Juice, a dubby
downtempo 12" from Apeanaut on Redbud Records, Attica Blues' "Test Not Test"
album on vinyl at a new lower price, more copies of Blue States latest album
on vinyl and their recent single "Season Song" (Jockey Slut's Single Of The
Month), very nice debut CD from Dutch duo C-mon & Kypski, the third 10" in
the Caia series, more copies of the DJ DSL album, new Mind Over Midi 10"
where they team up with Tikiman, Pelican City (aka Dangermouse) vs Scanner
CD single, a new Quantic 12" "Search The Heavens" from Tru Thoughts, new
Shrimp 12" on Nylon with an Afromystik remix, a 7" release of contemporary
dub from Strikkly Vikkly on Redbud, the Cape of Good Dope sampler 12", and a
dope sophomore CD and 3 10"s from Zeb (of Codek fame).
Drum & Bass: New Future Prophecies 12" on Subtitles, stunning Carlito remix
of
Koop's "Summer Sun", Shy FX gets remixed by Dillinja on "Wolf", a new Teebee
D12" on Subtitles, and two releases from Total Science, one on Metalheadz
and one on Advance.
Hip Hop: DJ Premier remixes DLP and a 12" by South African female rappers
Godessa out on African Dope.
House: Behind the Grooves 12" with a Jay-J remix, a hot Ben Watt promo 12"
called "Lone Cat", new Africanism 12" by Bob Sinclar, new G-Swing 12" from
newcomer Dan X aka Dirty Sole, import only remixes of Flunk's cover of "Blue
Monday", Joe Active (aka Chocker on Transfusion) has a new 12" on Out of the
Loop, Joel Harrison gets remixed by Loose Ensemble on his new 12" on
Foundation, Mark Farina remixes Freaks' "Washing Machine", Mike Dixon drops
a mix of "Jingle Bells" for G-Swing, mellow, almost ambient house on
Oratai's "Timpani Waves EP" which also features a Theo Parrish remix, and a
new house remix of Sade's "I Couldn't Love You More" along with the second
house remixes D12".
Nu Jazz/Broken Beat: Black Mighty Orchestra 12" on Irma with Cybophonia
remix,
the 2nd Kyoto jazz Massive 12" remixed by Quantic and Blaze, killer broken
beat 12" by Les Voleurs 12" on their own Moomu label, new Moodorama 12" on
Audiopharm, the full length CD from Phil Martin (who did the recent "Speak
No Evil" single), Solid Groove dope as funk broken beat EP on Loungin'
getting played by everyone, a new Soul Bossa Trio CD (and two 10"s) from
Irma, Universal Funk new 12" with a Swell Session remix, and John Kong's
latest compilation CD on his own Do Right label.
2-Step/UK Garage/Nu Skool Breaks: Stanton Warriors remix Layo & Bushwacka's
"Love Story" and a new 12" by Mark One on Texture.
Other: DJ Mag finally in stock, new Plastiks magazine, new Straight No
Chaser magazine, two new UDG Record Bags, and some low priced, high quality
