This thread is crazy given the context of this
list, but on the other hand it epitomizes the
tolerance and acceptance of the listmembers.
In most newsgroups people would be flaming
each other now for being off topic.
I love this list :-)
Thought I would just take advantage and
sift through everybody elses comments, but
I guess I too would have some fun at
reminiscing about them days :-)
The eighties
The style council - remember Paul Weller ? Great social conscious lyrics about Thatchers UK, wrapped in jazzy / bossa / pop moods .
Talk Talk - Ever so fragile, yet such a strong emotional impact. Lifes what you make it.
Lloyd Cole and the commotions - Take your blues and croon it out through the filter of pop. Oh yessss..... !
Prince - No further introduction nescessarry. Best new comer in the 80 ´s "If I was your girlfriend" still is the best teenie-fly-on-the-wall dream.
Propaganda - Someone on the list posted news bout them some months ago. Hope they will come back for another round of Edgar Allen Poes electro pop. Them germans :-)
Eddie Brickell and the new bohemians - Great daily day observations served in a folky way. Always loved the lines. "How can that dog be - barking in the backyard - we ran over him years ago"
Pet Shop Boys - Still going, well, at least somewhere their new album considered. Massive.
Split Enz - Neil Finn and bros split up and Crowded house took over. Great lyrics as well releasing
the first laser engraved LP I had ever seen :-))))
No point in babbling along - just wanted to share with you fantastic people :-)
