Just caught Beyonce Knowles of Destiny's Child's latest video, "Work It Out"
from Austin Powers.
Big budget all the way, with Beyonce, predictabally, moving into 70's soul
diva redux territory, ala Nikka Costa, Macy Gray, and the like...
The video looks full retro, what with Beyonce in the gold lame' mini dress,
and the bass player's big funky natural. Probably cost alot of money....
The only thing is, with all the money spent on the production, THEY FORGOT
TO GET A FUNKY BAND! Midi all the way.
When Beyonce says "let me hear you blow your horn" and this tooty midi
baritone sax sound comes out... that's just awful....
Well, just shows the state of the music business... where the actual music
is an afterthought... that sometimes gets forgotten....
