Dear friends,
We had another busy week: a great Monday night last week with Rui Torrinha
from Oporto, Portugal on my first guest session of dj Suhaid's superb Bomb
The Jazz nights. Rui played a bunch of broken beat stuff heating up the
floor for the dancers. The vibe was so perfect. Rui & Sofia, thanks again

Just a day later we had another good guy at the radio studio: Alex aka
Ursula 1000 from New York. He played more than one hour of easy sounds
(check out the radio stream and playlist) from his new album (out on
Eighteenth Street Lounge) and more.
Gabor aka Shuriken is still on his tour in the Balkans, read some stories in
the next newsletter. While Ambrus aka Erik Sumo, the third member of the CSB
gang is on holiday, I am working on some new stuff alone.
Sometimes our friends ask why we keep working in our daily jobs and start
making a career as full-time djs and producers. But are we ready for this?

"Next came a cruel lesson. Record shops do not take singles. Radio stations
do. People do not buy singles if you don't play the single live because you
are a studio band and can't play the single live and you don't perform much
anyway. People don't tend to buy singles they hear once on the radio at 3 in
the morning with disparaging comments from the DJ. Modern Records kept
leaving messages on my answering machine asking me to take delivery of the
remaining disks. On the bright side, I did actually hear Rediffusion played
twice on 2RSR. I gave freebies to my colleagues at work. The
reaction..."Don't give up the day job".
