I convert my radio show to AIFF and then to mp3 for Live365 every
week. I've been going from cassette into the Sound Blaster Mac card I
bought, recording with ProSoniq sonicWORX and it sounds fine.
Occasionally I'll go from DAT into the digital output on the sound
card at work and repeat the same process and the difference is
negligible.
With a decent audio program you can tweak the file to sound pretty
close to the original, especially if your source is MD.
