I am already putting acid-jazz@ucsd.edu in the To: or CC: spots! If there
is anything else I can do I would be more than happy to do it, I would
hate to burden anyone with having to use all the energy it takes to delete
these playlists. The majority of responses I get are positive, some of
them very positive but every now and then someone out there takes
exception and there seems to be little I can do about it! I really enjoy
reading other people's playlists and find them very informative from many
points of view but I relaxed with the fact that if I do not for some
reason want to read one that I can very easily just hit the delete button
and it is gone in a flash. When I consider how many viruses we have ALL
had to duck, especially these past few weeks, having to delete email that
I have no interest in or do not want hardly seems like a big deal to me.
Since I play whatever good music I can from independent labels and
producers, the playlists are one way for people to see that they are
actually getting some air behind what they produce and keep track.

I am sorry if these playlists offend some people and if there is a way to
not send them to everyone, then I would love to know what that is!

The problem is that unlike other lists, you don't get [acid-jazz] automatically added to the subject line, so it's difficult for anyone like me who is using "rules" (as they're called in Outlook Express) to automatically sort in-coming e-mail into appropriate folders. The only rule that works for this list then is to sort everything where either the To: or Cc: lines contain acid-jazz@ucsd.edu. Now when you send out your playlist with the address in the Bcc: line then there is no way for Outlook to see it and sort it into the correct folder, and instead it comes straight into the main Inbox folder, and sometimes I even wonder why the heck you're sending me the playlist, until I remember that this is just another acid-jazz message that Outlook can't sort properly because of the hidden address. Anyway I couldn't expect anyone to know this until now that it has been fully explained, so maybe you can do us a favor from now on and put acid-jazz@ucsd.edu in the To: or Cc: line. You can still hide all the other recipients in Bcc:.

Please try to understand that I am not sending anything to you personally, I am sending my playlist to the entire list, some of whom like to get it. Those people who don't want it just delete it as you can do. If you want to unsubscribe yourself then you need to unsubscribe from the entire list. If nobody wanted my playlists (or the others that are posted here!) then I wouls top sending them to the list as a whole but I am unable to unsubscribe an individual person, you have to do that yourself. I apologize for that but that is just the way it is! leslie/The Power of Sound ----- Original Message ----- From: Shaddy (PHAT.industries) To: icehouse@redshift.com Sent: Friday, May 10, 2002 1:32 AM Subject: Re: the power of sound - 5/9/02
