Someone was asking about the underground funky non-commercial disco
music... here are some of my favorite joints... i think you will see that
most of them fit into the "loft" vibe category (I think the loft pretty
much covered all the bases of "Good Disco"):

Atmosfear - Dancing in Outer Space
Candido (i think?) - Thousand Finger Man , Jingo
Gil Scot Heron - The Bottle
Lonnie Liston Smith - Expansions , Space Princess
Vaughn Mason - Bounce, Rock, Skate
Jimmy Bo Horne - Is it In, Spank
Loose Joints - Is it all over my face
Unlimited Touch - Searching to find the One
McFadden & Whitehead - Aint No Stoppin Us Now (especially that dubby
version that came out on the Loft 10 inch!! bim!)
    War - The Chase
    Lakeside - Fantastic Voyage
Hollywood Party - Love is the Message
    Dexter Wansell - Mars
    Frankie Smith - Double Dutch
    Tom Browne - Jamaica Funk
Nike Stiker Band - Little bit of Jazz tonight
Whatnauts - Help is on the Way
People's Choice - Do it Anyway You wanna do it
Creative Source - Who is he and what is he to you
Main Ingredient - Happiness is just around the bend

certainly not an exhastive list... just the records I've come across that
I really feel... and that I spin out sometimes.

peace !! in our lifetime !!

    Nat
