    Tonight

DJ Jacob Pena from Ubiquity Records will be spinning
new releases and some older material from Ubiquity's
    Latin-America and Brazil influenced music.
Among the tunes you'll hear , featured for the first
    time on radio are...

John Beltran "Bota Foga" + bonus beats vs. Fantasista
(feat. Toshio, United Future Organization) "Offside
    Trap" (UR12104)

A new track (with a bonus beats percussive dub) from
    John Beltran and an
exclusive tune from DJ Toshio of United Future
    Organization, both lifted
from our Japan-only compilation "Kickin' It, Samba
    Style". Heavy
batucada percussion meets with a swinging beat that
    switches between two
step and organic house. Sweeping strings acoustic
    guitars and an irresistible vocal
hook are the icing on the cake. Lies somewhere in the
    territory occupied by
Masters At Work, Osunlade and organic 2-stepper
    Landslide. "Offside
Trap" is a deep, bass-line driven entrancing tune for
    the jazz and downtempo
heads. Tasty, and exclusive from Toshio of United
    Future Organization!

Early DJ reactions have been very strong for this
    single . . .

"F#$king Brilliant!" - Baby Mammoth (Pork Recordings)
"Fantastic" - Rainer Truby (Compost Records)
    "Excellent! Brilliant! Fantastico!!! - Buscemi

    ========================================
    Francisco Aguabella "Cubacan" (Cubop, CBCD038)

Cubop recording artist and legendary percussion-master
    is back with an
all-star West Coast cast and an accomplished new
    album, his second
all-original release for Cubop.  "Cubacan" is
    dedicated to Aguabella's
    friend Tito Puente.

On "Cubacan" The Banda Brothers (Poncho Sanchez
    long-time right-hand men)
and Justo Alamario (of Roy Ayers fame), Francisco
    Torres (another Sanchez
band member and one of LA's future all-star Latin
    musicians) feature on a
mix of original tracks and Aguabella-style covers
    including an awesome
percussion driven cover versions of "My Favorite
    Things", "Tin Tin Deo" and
"Autumn Leaves". The music recorded in Los Angeles,
    early 2002, appeals to
both the Latin Jazz and Afro Cuban crowd as well as
    the straight Jazz fans

    Barbara
