    Hope all is well...we are happy to bring to your attention that Legendary
    Jazz Drummer & Bandleader Chico Hamilton's second release on Koch
    Jazz, THOUGHTS OF... is well represented on the 45th Grammy Awards
    Entry List appearing five times: ...Under Field 10- Jazz Category 47- Best
    Jazz Instrumental Solo #008 "Mother Tucker" Joe Beck, soloist, #034 "Rusty
    Dusty Blues (Mama Mama Blues)" Larry Coryell, soloist, and #078 "Could
    Be" Rodney Jones, soloist; Field 10- Jazz Category 48- Best Jazz
    Instrumental Album, Individual or Group #071 THOUGHTS OF... Chico
    Hamilton; and Field 23- Production Category 87- Best Engineered Album,
    Non-Classical #203 THOUGHTS OF... Fred Guarino & David Merrill.

    Did you know: That Chico Hamilton and his quintet performed, at the
    invitation of NARAS Founding Member George Avakian, at the VERY
    first meeting in 1957 in LA where music professionals and label executives
    discussed the creation of NARAS??!!??!!

    I am sad to say that in his extensive and longstanding career, Chico has
    never been nominated for a Grammy, and nothing would make me HAPPIER
    than to secure for Chico in his 81st year his FIRST Grammy Nomination.

    I ask all our friends who are NARAS members to PLEASE vote for Chico's
    album, and if any of our friends who have friends who are NARAS members
    ask them to PLEASE vote for Chico's album...and for those of who are NARAS
    members in fields of endeavor outside of jazz, and have leftover categories,
    PLEASE vote for Chico's album!!

    PLEASE forward this email to EVERYONE you know!!

    Please keep in mind that the deadline for having ballots back in LA is
    December 4th, and that NARAS recommends having them back in the
    mail by November 27th!!

    Also PLEASE do let me know if you will be voting for Chico's album as I am
    trying to keep a tally.
