Hey folks,
While I can't profess to liking NIN, or in fact ever listening to NIN, I can
admit to recently enjoying a lot of music that doesn't traditionally fit
within the parameters of our genre. I am, for example, madly listening to
Can's "Ege Bamyasi" which, while well within the rock idiom, is crazy funky
and dancefloor friendly (if the crowed is open). I'm also enjoying the
funky prog-rock stylings of Tasavallan Presidentti's "Milky Way Moses",
purchased because I pick-up everything I find on the Janus label. So I
agree, there's no reason we shouldn't discuss other musics on this list if
they have some shred of relevance to the general aesthetic we enjoy.

Hey Stimp,
i'm a NIN fan too and i'm in this list. i think "The Downward Spiral" is a
quite good record. it's perfect mixture of brutality and silence. that's my
opinion . . . and as long we are not really changing the acid jazz topic i
think it is okay to talk about other music or musicians. that is a way to be
flexible and show other music to other people. really innovative stuff
allways comes from the outside. i know this mail is a bit confusing, but i'm
from germany and very tired, but i hope you will see what i try to express.
bye !
johannes
