New Releases :: Goto Toshiyuki, Okino Shuya
info from: DG
Toshiyuki Goto -- Two Way Street
Cutting Edge (Japan), 2002
Clubby tracks with a really warm heart -- recent house work by Toshiyuki
Goto filled with acoustic drums, sweet keyboards, and other soulful
touches! The set's kind of halfway between other recent Japanese house
tracks, and some of the more classic-inspired tracks coming from Paris
and London in recent years -- strong and tight in the groove department,
but with flourishes of instrumentation that open the sound up nicely.
Titles include "Drifting", "Birthday", "Reminiscence", "Love Vibes",
"House Of Akoradi (friend and lover mix)", "Tribe (special dub
version)", and "Our Story".
Various -- Sofa -- Continuously Mixed By Shuya Okino of Kyoto Jazz
Massive
Sofa/KSR (Japan), 2002
A continuous mix of 10 hip underground tracks -- put together by Shuya
Okino of Kyoto Jazz Massive, with a very hip sound that's in keeping
with his own work! There's plenty of great tunes on here that we've
never stocked before -- the cream of the crop of the underground, with
titles that include "Fais Moi Fremir" by Blaktroniks, "Time" by Glance,
"Elevator (Fila Brazilia mix)" by Jaffa, "Two Hours" by Tetris, "Absence
Of One" by Recloose, "Goddess (Jimpster rmx)" by Waiwan, "Waltz For
Little Eva" by Alex Attias & Jessica Lauren, and "Why" by Sequel
featuring Shoany White.
