    Greetings,

The weather is hot and so are the Giants! I'm trying to listen to
some of the new music piling up around here, but the playoffs demand
    my attention......

Ninja News: we've created a link on the FreeFall Web page to some
cool audio and video clips from our friends at Ninja Tune. Check out
new tracks from Mr. Scruff, Funki Porcini, DJ Vadim, Cinematic
Orchestra and others. NT promises to update the page on a regular
basis, so make sure and visit often. Here's the address:
    http://www.geocities.com/davidbassin/freefall.html

Next week our guest mix will come from Idiom Creak, a young producer
and DJ from the Sacramento area whose recent album, "Jet-Powered,
Monkey-Navigated" was (in my humble opinion) much better than DJ
Shadow's. This is definitely one for the headz, with dark humor and
an unusual choice of tunes. Be sure to tune in next week!

On deck for this evening's show are new albums from John Beltran
("Sun Gypsy"), the U.S. release of Röyksopp's wonderful "Melody
A.M.", "The Colored Section" - an outstanding debut from Donnie
(think Donnie Hathaway meets Stevie Wonder), "Day By Day" - a great
compilation from Delsin (unfortunately with no new tracks), more from
Bobby Hughes Combination's "Nhu Golden Era," Blueprint's "Foundation"
and a whole mess 'o singles I haven't heard yet..

Oops.....almost forgot - we'll premiere "Out Of Season" - the new
solo album from Portishead's Beth Gibbons and "Red Hot + Riot," the
latest tribute from the Red Hot organization, this time celebrating
the music of Fela Kuti. Participants include Baaba Maal, Mixmaster
Mike, Meshell Ndegecello, Archie Shepp, Les Nubians, Nile Rodgers,
Femi Kuti, Talib Kweli, Chateau Flight, Manu Dibango and many, many
    more.

Until next time, ciao for now...
    David

    P.S.: How 'bout them Giants?
