what's this i hear you cry ? a live show thats not a record ! how can this be in my chart ?well......the thing is.....im still buzzin from the gig days after as Finland's finest band played host to a scorching night hosted by Benji B & Gillesie P.Bradders,Nigel 'nice hair,Yakkers,Earl Zinger and Vanessa Freeman in da house to witness a wicked show.fantastic musicians... a 3 piece brass section with what looked like Kris Kristoffeson on trombone and a punk rocker on bass.fantastic keys,guitar,vocals,percussion and drums too.check out the fugal horn......first ever uk show and mighty impressive they were too.there was so much putty in the bands hands afterwards i was seriously tempted to run home and do a spot of tiling.......

A voice made in heaven to bring tingles down your spine.Marvin for 2003 ?A classic album.Believe.

Limited jazzy hip hop double lp of instrumentals so phat that they feature an obesse warning on the sleeve .The band are from the north of Japan and theses are seriously limited.Catch it at Mr Bongo's in Poland Street for next two weeks only.

Great 13 track long player from Nicola Conte vocalist Rosalia De Souza.Bossa Business supreme.We need da vinyl.

Japanese band gets remixed.one mix in particular sounds particularly great on the floor called the Skarada dub which is paul murphy and marc woolford.....afro art ? afro tastic.

berwick street shop has a label of significance with their jazztronik & maurice faulton remix ep of this spanish signing.

The label had a name change from Climate and is now called Mumo.This is the second in the series (volume 1 was fantastic !!!!!!! )this time compiled by Mike Chadwick and it gets Jimbo Raw Deal and Rainer Truby's vote with big support.More gems than a Hatton Garden Jewellers as the likes of The Brooklyn Soulboys rub shouldors with Patricia Marx,Paula Lima,Ufo,Quant,Agent K,Neon Phusion,Da Lata,Osunlade,Wai Wan & Ed Motta.Check out the brand new club session named strangely enough.......Music & Movement at The Fridge Bar in Brixton starting Tuesday 15th October with my lovely self (ahem...)Mike Chadwick & the gorgeous Helen Mayhew from Jazz Fm

Great sleeve (its so important ! )and it sounds great too.Nuff dj support from cdr all over europe and now we got da vinyl.Essential.

worthy jazz selection by the Okino brothers that borders on the sublime.More favourites than a best of Grand National all winners race as Ann Young's Speak Low rubs shoulders with Fumio Itabashi,Eri Ohno(with a great version of Norwegian Wood)Hiroshi Suzuki and many more.

Vinyl is now with us and it looks and sounds great.Gilles and Patrick already played the main track ...a version of 'Casa Forte' which is as essential as it gets.Check also a fab version of Girl From Ipanema.The original goes for around 500-600 sterling so this is a great re issue of holy grail ness.Apparently it was only available in Japan when you bought hi fi equipment and was never on general release.Gilles has licenced the casa forte track for his trust the dj comp but man....the lp is the real deal !

Dr Dorfbaby dropped this in Dusseldorf (try saying that when you have a mouth full of Pistachios ).Wahoo on the mix and jolly good it is too.

usa 12 with exclusive mixes.stereolab/mr rocket and some chap who we like alot called mr mad lib.

Bit spooky this.Had a call from usa from Julie Dexter last week and then the following day this pops through the post from France.Tom hooks up with Julie as opposed to Joyce and its great.

great compilation of dego's label output.worth checking the cd version with past singles not included on this vinyl version and a wicked track by volcov which is truely inspiring....not too sure about the 2000 black merchandise...think dego's showing off his football obsession !...mind you it adds a touch of humour to a sometimes 'too serious' scene.tuff beats aplenty

Havent been into all these 12s on the Africanism series but this is definetly one of the superior ones,this time produced by Sumo which is a good a reason for me to chart if any !

24.Jazztronik - Rita - Especial Distribution/Aloha- Japan
Long time come.Nuff requests but Im pleased to say its here at last.Ryota Nozaki goes for a bossa track of the epic variety and delivers the goods once more to everyones deep joy.Thick sleeve.Heavyweight ,beautifully mastered vinyl.Just how we like it.Limited copies in the shops.....

Superb Double vinyl album which is so strong that its practically got a six pack .Cast iron production and 3 years in the making.Its all about the beats.........only 200 copies pressed on vinyl.On your marks....get set.....GO !

as trippy hip hoppy and dubby beats driven chilled triple albums go this is the don dadda.The icing on the cake.Double drums is a bonefide classic but this is not a one horse race as the whole album proves.Light a fat one and enjoy.This gets better on each play and nuff interest from the inquisitive dancefloor.

27.nicola conte - jet sounds re visited vol 2 - schema italy
one of the best labels outta italy comes through with another bunch of remixes.eddy & dus,koop,gerardo frisina and a great nu spirit of helsinki is a particular favourite.

Mindset dub.but check the vocal.sweeter than a Caburys Milktray family selection.

jesus....this is too good.New Album from dem lovely boys from Osaka,The Okino Brothers ...Vanessa Freeman.Maiya James.Chris Franck & Guida de Palma.Victor Davies and Hajime Yoshizawa all help to make this an album of the year contender fa sure.The Maiya James track 'Mind Expansions' in particular is massive.solid stuff.so happy to have on vinyl.Also check the quantic mix of 'the brightness of these days' which is going to be a forthcoming single.marvelous.Sleeve is fab too.
