STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)

    Hello all

Very nice of Mark Farina to drop in during last weeks show. I think he may
have left our shores now, but he's got more to add to his extensive
collection of compilations for Om Records/Stomp. Out in the next week or two
is "Mushroom Jazz 4" featuring more downtempo material such as his own
production as Urban Back Country which we ended the show on. And if you
think he's been neglecting the production side a little, then lookout - he's
planning a double album of his own music for Om next year.

And there was nice dose of sounds from our part of the world on the show
too. Twinset must be Wellington's answer to the Bamboos - I love the ill
flute work in their funk remake of "You Wait" on the Black Seeds remixed
album "Pushed". Finally, Brisbane's talented multi-instrumentalist, DJ and
producer has allowed me to play one of his tunes on Stylin. Introduced to me
by Mark de Clive-Lowe, Julien is one to look out for with his organic jazz
grooves. Check his net label Choqolat. Lazyboy is becoming a Stylin staple
and his new tune added a latin twist to his typical broken electronic
flavour. And the most regular of all on Stylin, myself with that remix for
    Cosmic Sounds.

On tomorrow's show I'll have an interview with Mark Rae from Rae &
    Christian/Grand Central Records.

And on the club side, the fabulous DJ Christo will be doing the Open Sesame
thing at Honkytonks tonight, and tomorrow night at Revolver Kano and I are
launching the Other-Worldly Fusions compilation. We'll have giveaways of the
album, Elvis Aljus on percussion and a live set from the incredible hip hop
duo Plutonic Lab & RuCL. Email back with names for free entry.

    until then
    Ennio Styles
