    Greetings,

I've just returned from Davies Symphony Hall, where Philip Glass and
his ensemble performed a live score to a series of new, short films
from directors such as Atom Egoyan, Peter Greenaway and others. On
the way back to the parking garage, I became distracted by all the
cars honking their horns to celebrate the Giants' big win and almost
walked headfirst into Tom Waits who was ducking into a restaurant. I
was tempted to go back and say hello, but coming home to write this
newsletter was of utmost importance......anyhow, I'm beat, so this
    will be brief.

Speaking of brief, our musical selections will be limited this
evening, due to our guest mix from Idiom Creak (aka Michael Rosen).
As I've said before, " Jet Powered, Monkey Navigated" is the album
that DJ Shadow should have released this year but didn't. Ironically,
both of these guys are from Davis, California - what's the chance of
that? Michael's mix is quirky, funny and dark in places. I hope you
can tune in and experience it for yourself. For more info, check out:
    http://www.samplistic.com/.

New albums this week include a trippy compilation called
"Hallucinogen In Dub," which pretty much sums up the album,
"Hitchhiking Nonstop...." from Edition Terranova that touches on a
number of styles and genres, "The Chromatic Universe" offering beats
of the broken kind from Alex Attias, Big Bang's "Arriving Soon,"
"Superhero Music" from Fingathing and more.....

That's gonna do it for this week....until next time, ciao for now!
    David
