I went to Ubiquity's John Beltran & John Arnold show
over the weekend and thought the tunes were great!
Having never seen John Arnold (Detroit) spin before I
didn't know what to expect...he played one of the best
dj sets i've heard in a while. A really good mix of
Detroit techno/house, broken beat and some crazy tunes
I wouldn't know how to classify.

Records release-wise he has a new 12" out this week on
Transmat and a Ubiquity single that came out about a
    month ago.

Next time he's out check him out.

JOHN ARNOLD - Four Minutes? [TRANSMAT]
Three brand new tracks from the next next wave of
Detroit talent. Having worked with artists as diverse
as Beltran and Bukem as well appearing on Fragile,
here he jumps to the grand daddy of all techno labels
Transmat with three forward thinking cuts of jazz
based tech. Sure to appeal to fans of Carl Craig as
well as Gilles Peterson. Tracks: Respectall / Chika /
    4 Minutes?

JOHN ARNOLD - We re Not [UBIQUITY]
Prod by John Arnold & Jeremy Ellis (aka Ayro).
Tracks+Mixes: Were Not (Original, Ayro Remix), Fabric.
Tasty collaboration between Detroit new schoolers John
Arnold & Jeremy Ellis aka Ayro previously recording
for Transmat, Fragile, Omoa-here they drop some broken
beat & techy-tinged funky future biznizzz. Were Not,
has a smoldering bass and a Recloose-ish bouncy,
floor-filling vibe. Think classic Detroit party sounds
meets West London broken beat, On the flip is the
jagged future-tech-funk sounds of Fabric building a
fragmented beat to a warm mid tempo electronic jam.
